University of Pécs

The historic city of Pécs, Hungary is proud to house the country’s oldest university. The internationally recognized University of Pécs was founded in 1367 by King Louis the Great. Rebuilt after World War I, the University was reorganized.
The University Hospital and the research institutions were housed in the central city hospital, the Episcopal Library, the old academy of law and various schools. Today, however, most of the research and teaching facilities of the Medical School are located in one area. All the student service facilities, including the Medical School’s Administration, and the Student Activity Areas have also been consolidated into the same campus.

Medical Programs in English

General Medicine Program (M.D. degree, Doctor of Medicine)
Length of studies: 12 semesters (6 years)

Dentistry Program (D.M.D. degree, Doctor of Dentistry)

Length of studies: 10 semesters (5 years)

Pharmacy Program (Doctor of Pharmacy)
Length of studies: 10 semesters (5 years)

International Recognition of the Degree

EU
In those professions where the conditions of education in Hungary are identical with those in other EU member states, and these have already been recognized, the member states of the European Union are obliged to accept the diplomas issued in Hungary, independent of the language of tuition. For EU citizens it gives an automatic license.

USA
The University of Pécs graduates (as foreign graduates) have the right to pass the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), after which they are eligible for residency.

Application Criteria

Completion of high school senior secondary school
Good command of English
Strong motivation to study and practice medicine, dentistry or pharmacy

Admission is based on a Successful Entrance Examination

Multiple choice test in Biology, Chemistry and English. Interview with a Professor in the UAE

Entrance Exam Details

Tuition Fees/Year 2018-2019

The exam consists of two parts, written and oral.
1. The written part includes multiple choice tests in Biology (20 questions), Chemistry (20 questions), General English (40 questions) and Medical English (20 questions).
The duration of the exam is 2,5 hours.
2. The oral part is an interview with a university professor about medicine related questions and motivation.
